Is the Sabbath Relevant for Christians Today?

believers in Jesus are no longer Required to keep the Sabbath? Says who?

There is no longer any obligation to observe it. Where does that say in the NT?

Where is a thus says the Lord?

A believer is free from the Law of Moses? Here is one of the confusions. When we talk about the Sabbath commandment, it is not from the law of Moses, that was done away with at the cross. It is from the moral law. The law of Moses was written on parchment, the Moral Law was written on stone by God Himself. The law of God was placed inside of the Ark of the Covenant, the law of Moses was placed in a pocket outside the Ark.

The Day they choose is purely optional? Another confusion. So anyone can play around with God’s Law? Well I’ve got news about that. When God says to remember the Sabbath day, He means what He says. The only day that God blessed, was the the day He rested at creation week. Another mistake that is often made that it is the Jewish Sabbath. Was Adam and Eve Jews? Of course not. The Sabbath was for mankind.

There is no warning in scripture against worshipping on Sunday? Of course not, because if the Christians worship on the first day of the week , the Jews who were fanatically zealous would accuse them of breaking the Sabbath and put them to death, they tried to kill Jesus for breaking the Sabbath. I find no accusations made against the Christians for worshipping on Sunday.

Nine of the commandments are repeated in the NT, but the fourth is not? The Bible says that if you keep the whole law, and offend in one point, you break the lot.  James 2:10  For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

11  For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

This is talking about the Moral Law.

There is also the ceremonial Sabbaths as well. These sabbaths were apart from the Moral Law.

Leviticus 16:30.For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.

31  It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls, by a statute for ever.  .    is talking about the Day of Atonement a Ceremonial Sabbath which Jesus fulfilled at the cross. It has nothing to do with the Sabbath of the Moral Law.

This was one of the seven Ceremonial feasts of the Jews. Jesus is the true Lamb ofGod who was sacrificed for the sins of the world.
